Fight Is My Reply
You may act like you don't know me, Your laughter you can't hide. I may stand by myself, But I'm stronger deep inside.
Does my truthfulness upset you? You hate how I fight back? Well, I'm sorry to tell you, You're not gonna make me crack!
I suppose I should be like a damsel, Quiet, petite and shy, But, hey, I'm a woman, And FIGHT is my reply!
Do you want me to cower? Shun at your fame? Or would you like me to be nice, When you don't even know my name.
I will always say my opinion, I will never change. My mouth may be always open, And I cover topics in wide range.
You may talk about my individuality, You may say I am unwise, Killing me softly with your insults, But still, like air, I rise.
Out of the pain of my soul I implore... I rise Your shallowness will get to me no more... I rise I am a deep well rising, Whose truth and integrity is blunt and surprising.
Leaving behind my fear of trust, I rise Going into new relationships I must. I rise Bringin the pride of the woman true, I am truth itself, you no longer can make me blue.
